December 17th, 2020
For Immediate Release:
The December Events Committee of the Cuero Development Corporation has released a statement addressing the issue of donor signs in Cuero’s Christmas in the Park. This year, owing to short staffing in part due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and in order to meet the deadline of opening night, the scenes and displays were erected without the accompanying donor signs and lighting equipment, except for the very newest scenes. The December Events Committee acknowledges that we did not give proper notice to our patrons and, after receiving community feedback, a Special Meeting was held on the evening of December 8th, 2020 to discuss the issue with input from the public.
Below is a letter issued by the December Events Committee today for immediate public release regarding Cuero’s Christmas in the Park signage, steps taken, and future options currently under discussion.
Patrons with further questions or concerns may contact December Events Committee Secretary Samantha Bayfus at the Cuero Development Corporation office during business hours, Monday-Thursday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM, and Friday, 7:30 AM – 11:30 AM, at 361-275-8178.
