Cuero’s Christmas in the Park is almost ready to light up the upcoming holiday season. Debuting for its 20th year, the Christmas in the Park lighted display is set to open Nov. 25 thru Jan. 1 from 6 to 10 p.m. nightly.
As the display comes into its 20th year, the Cuero Development Corporation (CDC) and the December Events Committee, an ad hoc committee of the CDC works to up-keep the free self-guided driving tour by incorporating new scenes and displays yearly, along with ensuring the longevity of the lighted displays and scenes by replacing the bulbs with LED lights in 2018.
The CDC’s executive director, Pat Kennedy sat down for a quick interview to talk Christmas in the Park highlights.
“This will be the second year for the LED lights, and we know that that’s made a big impact in terms of the brightness of the scenes, but with the reduction of the electricity,” stated Kennedy.
With about a dozen new scenes this year, the CDC is continuously working to capture the eyes of families by changing and adding displays.
